Routing Modulite Power Wire to Engine Compartment 2010 Toyota Rav4
Question:
I have a few questions about how to locate the tube of the subframe assembly mentioned in the installation video that was used to route the black wire up to the engine compartment. 1 How do you find it? 2 What is the approximate diameter of the tube? 3 How long is the tube? and 4 How do you push the wire that tends to curl through the tube? I found one which is about 2 inches in diameter. If the tube is where I think it is, access to it is very difficult.

The sub frame tube is located just forward of the rear suspension. The tube is approximately one inch in diameter.
I have asked the installer that appeared in the video if he could recall how far up toward the front of the vehicle the tube extended, but he could not recall.
There is no one correct method of running that wire to the engine compartment, as long as the wire is kept away from any moving parts such as suspension components and anything hot, like the muffler, exhaust and exhaust manifold. I would suggest using zip ties to secure the wire to an existing wiring harness and running it as far forward as possible. Then continue it on to the engine compartment avoiding anything mentioned above.
