Class V Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ram 5500 Cab and Chassis
Question:
We have a 2016 Ram 5500 chassis and looking to put a hitch on. We like the Reese Super Titan 4000 weld on or bolt on, but not able to tell fitment based on the installation instructions with the rear fuel tank on the chassis. Could you provide information on whether or not one of these hitches will work? Or what is the return policy if it does not? Attached a picture of the truck for your review. Thanks.

The Super Titan hitch, # 38208, is designed for C channel style frames approximately 34 to 34-1/2 inches wide. This is measured from outside to outside of the frame rails. This is the common frame size for cab and chassis trucks so in that regard it would fit your 2016 Ram 5500.
Based on the pictures you sent in and the dimensions of this hitch that we are aware of I can tell this won't clear your fuel tank. You would need to go with a Class V hitch that was designed to fit your truck. For that you would want the part # C15800.
