Slider Hitch Recommendation for Use with Lippert FlexAir Pin Box

Question:

We are in the market for a new hitch. We have the Flex-air on our 2015 Columbus fifth wheel. Our tow vehicle is a 2010 Dodge Ram with a 6foot bed. Our hitch is a Curt and we have many problems disconnecting on un-level ground. We were considering a BandW hitch. We were told by Lippert that the BandW would compete with the Flex-air and recommended a Reese hitch instead. We do not have a slider hitch now and never ran into a situation where we needed one. Any recommendation or assistance you provided is appreciated. We would like to purchase the end of this week.

Curt and B and W make excellent fifth wheel hitches. Since Lippert made your Flexair pin box and they recommended a Curt over a Companion I would make the same recommendation.

My favorite Curt fifth wheel hitch is the # C16541 which would work well for you. Since you have a short bed truck you would be better off with the slider base that this hitch has. If you ever really needed to make a tight turn this would be the only way. The round tube sliders like what this have operate a bit smoother than square tube ones.

Also this hitch as a jaw that uses single hook that locks the king pin tight which virtually eliminates movement.
