Can Redarc 200 Watt Solar Panel be Used With RV Pre-Wired With Go Power Solar

Question:

My RV is pre-wired for solar and I want a portable panel only. The onboard system is Go Power. Do I have to buy a Go Power panel for this or can I use another? Im looking at Redarc Portable Solar Panel - 200 Watt - Monocrystalline Thank you

Yes, you can use the Redarc 200 watt solar panel with your RV that is pre-wired for solar, but you would not be able to use just the Solar Panel # RED86VR. Solar panels require a charge controller to regulate the battery charge so you would need to get the panel and the controller in one, with the following part number:

- Redarc Portable Solar Panel with Solar Charge Controller - 200 Watt Solar Panel # RED75VR

The # RED75VR will work with a pre-wired RV, but you will need an adapter for the plug's 2-wire connector on your RV to the Anderson connector for the Redarc controller. The cable that comes with the Redarc panel is 16 feet long, so you may also want an extension to get constant exposure to sunlight, and the part numbers for the adapter and extensions are the following:

- 2-Wire Trailer Adapter for Go Power Portable Solar Kits # GP72VR

- Extension Cable for Redarc Solar Panels - 5' Long # RED27VR, 16' Long # RED99VR, or 32' Long # RED49VR

Finally, the Redarc system only works with AGM batteries, so if you have a different type of battery (with the exception of lithium as it does not work with lithium), such as flooded lead acid, you need the Redarc Remote Monitor for Solar Systems # RED83VR.

If you don't want to mess with any adapters, or you have lithium batteries (or anything other than AGM), then the Go Power is the best choice, and you would just need the Go Power Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller - 200 Watt Solar Panel # 34282610.
