Can Stock Trailer with Vacuum Over Hydraulic Brakes be Converted to Electric Over Hydraulic

Question:

I am wanting to convert a tandem axle 20,000 gvw trailer from a non working vacuum over hydraulic braking system to electric over hydraulic system. What would I need to do this and is it something I can do myself or does it have to be professionally installed? This is a 1989 Wilson PSGN-728 livestock trailer 35foot gooseneck trailer

You can convert your trailer with vacuum over hydraulic brakes to electric over hydraulic brakes. Since you already have hydraulic brakes that would mean you have the correct assemblies and lines ran already. It would be just a matter of removing you old actuator and installing a new one.

Our favorite actuator is the HydraStar actuators. They are the most reliable and best performing. If you have disc brakes you would want the part # HBA16 or if you had drum brakes part # HBA-10.

If you have basic tools and mechanical skills this would be a very easy install.

You will need a compatible brake controller like our very popular P2 part # 90885.
