Picking Out Replacement Double Eye Springs for 1,720 lb Trailer
Question:
I have a harbor freight 4x8 1720lbs capacity trailer, that leans to the left. The left side frame rail at the axle is about an inch and a half lower than the right side. It also sounds like a pile of chains hitting together every time it hit even the smallest bumps in the road. I am guessing that the slipper springs need to be replaced, and my question is what do you recommend and is there an eye to eye spring that could be bolted in to help reduce some noise?

When replacing trailer leaf springs we strongly recommend you replace them in pairs. I would urge you to get a set of matching properly rated springs for your trailer as soon as possible.
If you look on the frame of your trailer there should be a plate with the trailer VIN number and the axle capacities of the trailer. You will want to pick leaf springs that are as close to the axle capacity as possible. I attached a link to a page that has all of the 2k rated double-eye springs we carry that would work. You would want to pick the one with the dimensions that match your trailer the best. Double eye setups should be a bit quieter as well.
For a hanger kit that comes with everything new we have the part # APT3.
You will want to also measure the distance from eye to eye of your old leaf springs and then pick a leaf spring with the same weight capacity of your trailer axles and is slightly shorter (around 1 inch) to compensate for the sag and wear of the old leaf spring.
I have attached an FAQ articles that reviews trailer suspension components for you below to check out.
