If you have a Tekonsha or Draw-Tite brand of brake controller with the 4 wire port in the back of the brake controller housing, the Tekonsha Wire Replacement for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Land Rover Vehicles, item # 3035-P, will be the correct wiring harness for brake controller installation.
If you have a brake controller with 4 wires exiting the rear of the controller you will need the Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter Ford, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercury, item # 3035-S, to connect the brake controller to the factory port under the dash of your 1999 Ford, F150 pickup. The wires on this harness match color for color to the brake controller wires.
The fifth wire in the ford factory wiring is an illumination wire and is not used for brake controller installation.
We have an installation video on a similar vehicle for you to review.
