Prodigy P2 Showing 0.0 and No Power to Brakes on Trailer
Question:
My prodigy controller reads all zeroes. I have power at the vehicle plug but nothing at the brakes on the trailer. Could the controller be defective since I can not get any reading but zeroes

Before we know if there is something wrong with the controller, there is some troubleshooting we can try.
Based on my research, the Prodigy P2 # 90885 will flash 0.0 when the power control is set to zero. Try adjusting your power level on the controller and see if that provides braking power.
I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he confirmed that adjusting your power gains will stop the controller from reading all zeros and provide you breaking power at the trailer. He confirmed that if the power level is set to 0 there would be power at the vehicle-side connector, but no signal at the trailer brakes.
I've attached the instructions for the Prodigy P2. The steps to adjusting the power and the troubleshooting chart are included in the instructions.
