Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2005 Toyota Camry To Use For Bike Rack Only
Question:
have a hidden hitch with bike carrier for a 1997 toyota-now have a 2005 toyota camry. need a different hitch but want to use the bike carrier that should fit the 1 1/4 receiver. handy with tools, would like to install it myself. have heard scary prices of 250-500 from others to install theirs at garages due to moving the muffler??. want the easiest to install with pre-drilled holes and still able to use all the stuff i haveonly hauling a bike. if i get the draw tite do i need the draw bar or can I use what I have? thanking you in advance!!

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2005 Camry is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 36336. The price of this hitch will certainly not scare you.
This is a Class ll hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch on a 2005 Camry. The installation instructions state you need a 1/2-inch drill bit, but may not be necessary because as you can see in the video, drilling into the frame was not required.
