Where to Find Brake Light Switch Wire for Installing Trailer Brake Controller

Im hooking up a brake controller on my 97 s10 . Ive run into the problem of hooking to the stoplight switch. Could you help in maybe locating where this would be . It the LS model

The vehicle wire that you want to connect to the red input signal lead for a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 is the wire from the cold side of the brake light switch. The switch is usually located at the top of the brake pedal and the wire to the cold side of the switch is the one that will carry a signal only when you press the brake pedal.
A circuit tester like # PTW2993 makes it easier to identify the correct wire.
The controller black wire brings 12V power from the battery (through a circuit breaker) to operate the controller; the white wire is ground and connects to the battery negative terminal; the blue wire is the controller's output signal that is to be routed to the vehicle 7-way.
