Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on a 1999 Dodge Dakota
Question:
I recently purchased a 1999 Dodge Dakota, which has no electrical connection for connecting to trailer lights. I have a small pop-up camper that I will be towing with the truck and need to install the proper connection to use the brake lights and blinkers on the pop-up. I was wondering if this item #118329 is what I need to make this work, since the Dakota has no visible connection near the trailer hitch. Do all 1999 Dakotas come with the wiring on each side, underneath the truck, to connect this product to as you have explained int the installation instructions?

Expert Reply:
The Tow Ready # 118329 T-One vehicle wiring harness you referred to is indeed the correct trailer wiring harness for your 1999 Dakota. The trailer wiring harness plugs inline with the vehicle wiring harness that feeds the truck's taillight assemblies, as you can see in the installation video I've linked for you.
