Recommended Frame-Mount RV Trailer Hitch for 2016 Palomino Puma 253FBS
Question:
Before I order the 5th wheel or the curt hitch I need to know if the hitch will install without any major modifications. holding tanks, pipes, wiring etc.Jim It is an I-beam frame, 68 1/2 apart, and will be bolted on. Palomino will only tell me a hitch voids the frame warranty.

The Curt hitch you referenced, Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13701, fits trailer frames up to 51-inches wide (measured outside to outside) and so it will not work on your Palomino Puma that has a frame width of 68-1/2-inches. A better fit is Curt's RV hitch # 13703 which fits frames up to 72-inches wide. An install video is linked for reference.
You can use the linked photo of the hitch mounting bracket that shows it's dimensions to see if there is enough clearance to mount it.
This hitch is intended for use with RV-rated accessory items and should be supported with a stabilizing strap like # 18050. Written instructions are linked.
