Solution for Trailer with 6-Way Square Connector to Be Towed by Truck with 7-Way

Question:

My f250 has a six blade male, center female receptacle on the hitch , and my truck camper a Wolf Creek receptacle is square with six round receptors...five male, one female. You sell both from what I see in your catalog. My problem is that the seven blade receptacle is on an eight foot cord. I need more than eight feet to get me from the truck, trailer-hitch to the front of the camper camper sits on truck. I dont want to splice individual, loose wires to the cord, so...do you have the seven blade receptacle in a ten foot cord, or some other way of getting from the truck to the camper? Thank you

The only solution we are going to be able to provide for you is to build an adapter like you mentioned or do what most people do and replace the connector you have on your trailer with a standard 7-way so that it will work with your truck and most other tow vehicles out there. The square 6-way you have is pretty uncommon and typically comes with an adapter from the trailer manufacturer to attach to a 7-way, but in your case I would just remove it and install a # H20046 in its place so that it can attach to your truck. This will save you the headache of having to remember the adapter.

You will need to wire the 6-way to the 7-way using the chart I attached. To determine the functions of the 6-way's wiring you can apply voltage to each of the pins with a jumper wire or you can trace the wires to see where they go.
