Making a 6-Way Square Adapter for an Artic Fox Camper

Question:

My Arctic Fox truck camper has a square 6-way 5 male, 1 female connector. I want to run 10awg wire, for power both positive and negative, from under the truck hood, through an isolator, to the rigs connector, to provide charging power, to the rigs house batteries, when on the road. I think I can use a t-connector harness to tie the trucks existing 7-way wiring into a junction box in the front of the truck bed. I would also run the 10awg power wires into the junction box. I would hard wire a square 6-way connector coming out of the junction box to plug into the rigs connector. Do you sell unwired 6-way connectors 1 male, 5 female that I can wire up using 10awg for power and 12awg for the lights?

Expert Reply:

We do have 6-Pole Square Trailer Wiring Connector Kit (Car and Trailer Ends) # 37995 that you can use for your Arctic Fox camper. This is both the male and female ends. But the wires on them are 18 gauge. You could replace the ground and power wires with 10 gauge wire if you wanted to though it make take a little persuasion to get the 10 gauge wire to mate up to the pins in the connectors. We sell 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 by the foot or you can get # 10-2-1, also sold by the foot, which is two 10 gauge wires.

The 18 gauge wire may seem small but it can handle lights without issue.
