is the curt trailer hitch you have for a 2016 jeep jk unlimited a facory second? I read through your qanda and it is mentioned that you got a significant discount from curt on these.

I believe you're referring to the Curt Class III hitch, part # 9883544. The hitch is NOT a factory second. We were able to purchase them in a huge quantity from Curt, which enables us to sell them at a very good price. They are all gone, but we sell the identical item which is the Curt # 13432.

Given the stresses that a hitch needs to withstand and the possible consequences of what could happen if the hitch failed, a reputable company wouldn't sell a factory second hitch.

Hey John, so there's not a huge difference between the two trailer wiring kits you mentioned that fit your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited but since we have the best luck with Tekonsha kits I would go with the part #118416 over the Curt #C55124.
