Best Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed

Question:

Hello. I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 3/4 Diesel pickup with the 6.5 foot bed. I currently have a BakFlip F1 bed cover installed which I am trying to sell for reasons below. We have a bumper pull travel trailer, Grey Wolf, about 30 feet. We are looking to upgrade to a Cedar Creek 34RE Fifth Wheel. I need to do two things, and need your advice. One, I need a hitch. I want the best I can find and not have to look back. Research leads me to the BandW Slider, BWRVK3400-5W. Please advise as to your recommendations. Two, if/when I can sell the current bed cover, I am considering a Gator MX sliding cover. Will this combination allow me to close the bed cover when not towing the Fiver? IF not, what are my options? Thanks.

The Companion hitches are great fifth wheel hitches. If you do any amount of searching online for the best fifth wheel hitch nearly everyone agrees that the Companion hitches are just that. Since you have a short bed hitch the part # BWRVK3400-5W would be exactly what you would need to make tight turns.

For a rail kit that would also double as a gooseneck hitch you would need the Turnover hitch part # BWGNRK1012-5W confirmed to fit your truck.

The height of the hitch will be adjustable from 17-19 inches. If the bed rails of your truck are taller than that (they should be) a tonneau cover would fit over the hitch.
