Truck Bed Camper Tie-Down Options for 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

Hi, I have 2 questions: 1. We have a 2014 Silverado 1500 and are looking for tie downs for a pop up Northstar truck camper. It looks to me like the heavy duty Brophy tie downs will work well. Can you please confirm that is correct and there wont be any fit problems? 2. If I use the Brophy tie downs, all 4 of the turnbuckles will need to be the same length, right? Ive looked at the Happijack and Torklift tie downs. Not only are they crazy expensive, they seem to be two different lengths. Can you please advise what options there would be to tie down the brophys? Thank you so much! Lyn

CR Brophy, the manufacturer of the # HSSF, does not list specific vehicle fits. But you can determine if the HSSF tie-downs will fit by checking the following items. Tie downs will not fit double wall beds- bed needs at least 2 inches of width under the lip that forms the top of the bed rail. You can see this dimension by looking at the diagram I provided. You can also see where the tie down attaches by viewing the video I linked. Tie downs will not work on beds with drop or slide in bed liners. It will work with spray-in liners. They will not work on step side or dually beds.

If your bed doesn't meet that criteria, we also offer tie downs from Torklift. To determine if they have a tie down that will work, I will need to know the cab configuration of your truck, whether it has running boards that extend past the cab corner under the bed and if the truck has a hitch. If it has a hitch, I'll need to know if it's an OEM hitch or aftermarket. If you would reply with this information, I'd be happy to make a recommendation.

Front and rear turnbuckle lengths will depend on the location of the tie down hooks/holes on the camper and the location of the tie-downs on the truck. The # TDHP turnbuckles offered by CR Brophy are reasonably priced.
