Is The Hub Pilot Size Important When Using Wheels With Lug Bolts

First off, very nice website! I have been looking for a set of trailer wheels and tires, your website is the best I have found by far. My trailer currently has two unmatched 12x4 rims with 4.80-12 B range tires mounted. My hub pilot size is 2.5 and the hubs have lug bolts that thread into the hubs rather than lug nuts. Does the pilot hole size matter when using lug bolts? I found that all new 12 rims I found have a larger pilot hole than 2.5. My trailer is also has a hydraulic dump bed but it is only a 46 x 10 bed. I have no idea what size rims and tires would work better for this type of trailer. It looks like the 10 wheels with the 205/65-10 tires may provide a slightly wider more stable tire contact for the weight that may be on the trailer. I noticed that the 10 wheels also have the 2.5 pilot hole in the center that would match my hubs. From what I read they would have a similar diameter at 20.5 to what I already have. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and when I figure out what would work best I will definitely buy from etrailer.com

Thank you for the compliment. Yes, the pilot hole size is very important when the trailer uses lug bolts. That means the wheel is a hub centric wheel instead of a lug centric wheel. The difference is the wheel that is hub centric will center off the pilot hole size and a lug centric wheel will center off of the studs that are on the hub.
You are correct the 12 inch wheels do not have the 2.5 inch pilot diameter. The 10 inch wheels with the 4 on 4 bolt pattern are the correct wheel you will need to get the 2.5 inch pilot diameter.
Using the 10 inch, 4 on 4 bolt pattern wheels with the 205/65-10 tires will also get you the overall diameter of 20.5 inches.
You will want to check the clearance on your trailer for the width of the 205/65-10 tire, because it is wider than the 4.80-12 tire. The width on the 205/65-10 tires is 8.4 inches.
You will need to check the gross trailer weight, so you can get the correct load range tire that will handle the load capacity of your trailer. The choices are:

The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10 Inch White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D, # AM3H410,
is a load range D (8 ply rated) tire with a maximum load of 1,330 lbs. at 70 psi.
The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10 Inch White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range E, # AM3H460,
is a load range E (10 ply rated) tire with a maximum load of 1,650 lbs. at 90 psi.
