Trailer Running Lights Not Working When Connected to 2012 Honda Odyssey with Curt Wiring Harness
Question:
I have a 2012 Honda Odyssey and installed the Curt trailer wire module I purchased from you. Ive installed fuses in all the blocks in the rear fuse panel but the park/running lights do not work, all others stop/turn function normally. I measured the voltage on the pin at the connector and it reads 3 volts but it doesnt light the bulb even dimly. Is that normal? Any ideas what could be wrong?

The first and easiest thing to check is the ground connection for Curt wiring harness # C56378. A weak ground could be causing the problem. The ground should be attached to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface on your 2012 Honda Odyssey. You may need to sand away any paint or coating to get to bare metal.
If that does not solve the problem then there are a few other things you can check. I have included a link to our help article on troubleshooting 4/5-Way connectors. This is a comprehensive guide that covers possible issues on the vehicle and trailer side.
It is possible that there is a problem inside the converter box and the whole harness will need to be replaced. If you determine this is the case I recommend Tow Ready wiring harness # 118521 because we hear about less issues with the Tow Ready harnesses.
