Your 1988 Chevy C70 isn't prewired for a brake controller, so you'll need to hard wire the controller.
In order to do this, you'll need our brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 Brake Controller. The kit includes a 7-way trailer connector, wire, hardware and circuit breakers you'll need to complete the installation. Due to the large size of the C70, I'd recommend getting an extra 20 feet of wire, which is sold by the foot as # 10-2-1.
The 7-way adapter will have a 4-pole plug on it, so you'll need to install a 4 pole trailer connector, part # 18252. The green wire would tap into the right turn signal circuit, the yellow wire into the left turn, the brown wire into the running lamps and the white wire would ground to the truck frame. This leaves 3 wires remaining. The black and blue wires would be connected to the two leads in the duplex cable included with the kit. The cable would be ran under the vehicle to the engine compartment and into the cab. The purple wire is usually tapped into the reverse lamp circuit if the trailer has reverse lamps. If it doesn't, just bundle the wire up out of the way.
The remainder of the installation will proceed exactly as shown in the instructions I've linked for you.
