Measuring Crossbar Spread to See if Yakima SkyBox 21 Cargo Will Clear Hatch on 2015 GMC Yukon
Question:
Fits crossbar spreads between 24 inch and 42 can you be more specific spreads My 2015 GMC Yukon SLT roof cross bar system has 3 specific bar mounting positions, for 2 bars . the closest puts the 2 bars 25 inches apart measured from about their centers but that is to close to mount a loaded box so I measured around 45 same way if I remounted one full forward that bar full forward meets the 57 inch back hatch clearance i think i will move them and measure exactly if you need but maybe you already know answer

Crossbar spread is measured from the center of one bar to the center of the other bar. As long as the spread is within the box's range then it can safely be used on the roof rack. The feet that the box uses to mount to the crossbars are adjustable forward and back which is why there is a bar spread range of 24 to 42 inches on the Yakima SkyBox 21 # Y07337.
