Closest Metric Replacement Tire Size for 7.00-15 Tire on Livestock Trailer

Question:

Hello, what would be the correct conversion switching from a 700-15 load range E to a metric conversion tire? Need all the weight I can get, this is on a livestock trailer that I keep blowing 700-15 tires. Two tires were correctly inflated but do not do well in desert heat.

The closest modern tire size to a 7.00-15 tire is a 225-75-15 like the # AM10256 tire you mentioned. Typically, a 225/75-15 tire will measure about 8-3/4 to 9 inches wide by around 28-1/2 inches in diameter. We offer the same size in a Load Range E as part # AM10303. The tire has a 2830 lb capacity when properly inflated to 80psi. The tire is intended for use on 15x6, 15x6-1/2 or 15x7 inch rims. You can max out on the load rating by going with the Load Range E tires, but keep in mind that the capacity of the trailer will still be limited by the capacity of its lowest-rated component.

For maximum tire life, be sure the keep the tires fully inflated to 80psi. You'll also want to make sure the tires aren't overloaded. If you click the provided link, you can see our Trailer Tire FAQ article.
