When Would a Reese Kwik Slide Slider Be Used when Towing Fifth Wheel Trailer
Question:
I just purchased a 1998 Kwik Slide 15 K classic, but have not pulled with it. How do I engage and disengage the slide mechanism?I Is it used primarily for backing. Can I get an operating manual? Any help appreciated

It sounds like you have an older version of the Kwik Slide part # RP30048. I attached a link to a page that has the install instructions that detail how to operate the slider.
Basically you will only need to slide the hitch back when you are taking tight turns in like a parking lot. The extra clearance allows the trailer not to hit the cab in tight turns.
