Will an 8 Inch Trailer Wheel Fit on Hubs for a 3,500 Pound Axle

Question:

Do you have this wheel that will fit a 3500 pound axle. I have tried a couple different ones and they will not sit flat on the axle face. The outer ring of the hub hits on the beveled edge on the face of the wheel.

Are you using hub and drum assemblies or just regular hubs? If you are using hub and drum assemblies then to fit an 8 inch wheel they would have to be very small. We have just one hub and drum assembly that fits 8 inch wheels, # 8-271-7UC3-EZ, and it is for 2,000 pound EZ lube axles.

Hub and drum assemblies for 3,500 pound axles are going to require 13 inch or larger wheels. It sounds like you are wanted to use an alternate tire size which requires a smaller wheel than what the hubs are designed for. So basically you will keep having this issue unless the hubs, wheels/tires, or both are replaced.

If you are using regular hubs then it is still likely a similar, though not exactly the same, issue. If you can tell me the inner and outer bearing numbers of the hub bearings I can determine the likely size hubs or hub and drum assemblies you will need.
