Availability of Load Range C and D Trailer Tires in Size ST225/75R15

Question:

Hi, need more info please: Horse trailer gooseneck with 2- 3500lb axles The wheels only have 5 lug bolts and are 15 x 5j The laden weight is 7,000lbs The unladen weight is 4490 lbs Trailer is 11 years old 1 Does the Kendra Loadstar come in a C tire and how much weight is it rated at? 2 Can you send me a link to see the bolt pattern? 3 Who manufactures Kendra Loadstar tires and where is their head quarters? The reviews dont sound too convincing because they havent put miles on the tires yet. 4 Are ST225/75R15 tires that are C rated at the same maximum amount of pounds they can carry? OR does the maximum load for C vary from manufacturer to manufacturer? For example the current Goodyear ST225/75R15 C, are rated at 2159.51lbs per tire. Is it DOT regulation that a C rated tire for ST225/75R15 has to be able to carry X amount of pounds? 5 What does the j stand for on the 15x5j wheel that is stamped in metal stamp on left front of gooseneck trailer? Thanks for your help.

For a Load Range C version of the # AM10256 that is Load Range D you would want the part # AM10251. This tire has a 2,150 lbs at 50 psi capacity. Since you are only looking for replacement tires you would not need to worry about the bolt pattern for the wheels. But I did attach a help article that details how to determine bolt pattern.

The main office for Kenda is in Ohio.

The Load Ranges can vary slightly from manufacturers, but in general they will represent the same weight capacities.

The 5 means that the wheel is 5 inches wide from bead to bead (not overall width). The J indicates the design of the bead but it is nothing you need to be concerned with.
