Troubleshooting Blaylock Door Lock that Key Stopped Working
Question:
I purchased 2 Baylock BLDL-80 locks. I have used 3 times now but I have an issue. I cannot get the tubular key into the lock to release them from my trailer. I dont really want to have to cut them off to gain access and was wondering if you have another option. They are keyed alike and both keys will not go into either lock more than 1/4 inch so I am unable to open them. Thanks for any help you can give to resolve this issue.

Before you try to cut the lock off I would recommend hitting the lock with some WD40 to try and get the lock cores to release. Use the straw that comes with it to direct the lube into the core as much as possible. You may have to let it soak for a few minutes. If the key worked for several times and then stopped that would indicate that you do have the correct keys and the problem is on the lock side.
