Is it Possible to Defeat the Blaylock Door Lock # BLDL-80

Question:

What testing procedures were performed on Blaylock Door Lock? The video commented the pull pin ring will break away if pried with a crow bar. My question is what are the chances of someone clamping the top of the pin with extreme force using vise grips then striking downward which will cause the internal locking pin from shearing or bending allowing for the harden steel pin to be removed. If that the case the housing design may need to be tapered more to prevent that type of leverage. Please let me know your findings, I really didn’t want to spending the extra cash and test it myself. Thanks

If a thief has the time and opportunity they usually get what they want. If a thief was dedicated enough to breaking into your trailer that he would go the lengths you described to defeat the # BLDL-80 he would probably also find other ways (much easier ways),to get in your trailer. Theft deterrents like the # BLDL-80 are designed to frustrate the average opportunistic thief to the point where they move on from trying to break into your trailer.

If you find a guy who is willing to go to any lengths to break into your trailer he will find a way unfortunately. A battery operated sawz-all could easily cut the handle of your door which would allow the Blaylock to be bypassed all-together and would be easier than destroying the lock in the way you described.
