Best Replacement for Old 6.00-16 Trailer Tires

Question:

Im replacing a vintage wheel and tire on a vintage miniature train hauler. The only 6.00-16 tires Ive found are for vintage automobiles and they do not have adequate weight capacity for the trailer, train, and track 3,089 lbs. total weight. Etrailer has several hub and tire assemblies that would seem to work. What size would be close to the 6.00-16, 6 on 5 1/2 wheels/tires on the trailer now? Thanks!

The best modern day size replacement option we have for a 6.00-16 is a 235/80-16 which measures 30-7/8" diameter x 9-3/8" wide. For this, I recommend the Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire with 16" Black Mod Wheel part # AM34834. If you want to save some money you can reuse the old wheels and just purchase the Karrier ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire part # AM10248.
