Recommended Fifth Wheel Hitch for 2008 GMC Sierra Shortbed

I am purchasing a 2008 GMC sierra 2500 short bed and also a 5th wheel. What would you recommend I get so I can get the best clearance on turns??

The fifth wheel slider that you will want will depend on the weight of the fifth wheel trailer you are pulling. If your fifth wheel is under 16000 lbs, a slider wheel hitch I would recommend is the Reese # RP30051 along with universal rail kit # RP30035.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two…
