What Does Carrier Weight Mean On The Thule DoubleTrack, Will It Fit 1-1/4 Inch Hitch

What is meant by Carrier Weight of 35 lbs. in the specs.? Is the 1.25 by 1.25 rod sufficient to carry the weight of two cannondale mountain bikes on rough roads?

The 35 lbs. carrier weight on the Thule Doubletrack # TH92BJ, is what the bike rack weighs. So the maximum weight capacity on the Bike Rack including the weight of the carrier will be approximately 102 lbs. of total weight being put on the tongue of your hitch.

The bike rack will work on a 1-1/4 inch hitch.

You will need to check the owners manual or the car dealer on what Class hitch is on your vehicle and the tongue weight capacity. You will want to make sure the weight capacity of your hitch is capable of handling the total weight of the bikes and the rack.
