Lippert Electric A-Frame Trailer Jack Just Clicks when Under Load and Wont Lift Trailer

Question:

my 2010 rapture toy hauler trailer has a LC285318 jack 4 yrs old. I noticed it starting to bind as I was lifting the trailer. slowing down in spots. then 2 camping trips it blowing its fuse when in a bind, now it just starts clicking like a cog or something is slipping when it is extended with a load. so I lifted it up with a floor jack and it will travel up and down smoothly but as soon is it is extended and the foot hits the ground and it feels the load it just clicks. I then have to manually retract it releasing the load then I can move it up completely and down again. it doesnt matter rather I place blocks to have the shaft het the load at different positions it does the same. can I repair the internals or what is needed. thanks

There are a few replacement parts but not any of the key parts that you would need to fix your Lippert jack. The best option is to go with a new jack.

The higher the capacity of the jack the easier it will be for it to operate and the longer the jack will last. That is why I recommend going with a 4,500 pound capacity jack such as the Stromberg Carlson # SC63VR. This unit has stops to prevent over extending or retracting thereby damaging the jack. It also has a drop-foot for increased extenson on slopping drives.

I have included a link to all of the powered A-frame trailer jacks we carry.
