Concern About Length of Warranty and Product Durability with Cargo Carrier

32x72 Lets Go Aero GearCage Slide-Out Cargo Carrier for 2inch Hitches I just purchased this and then saw the warranty. ONLY A YEAR for this item? How often do they wear out? The Swing Away have a 10 year warranty and I have had their bike rack for 10 years and it is still in great shape. I am very worried now about the quality of this item.

The warranty on the hitch-mount cargo carriers we offer will range from 90-days like the popular Flint Hill Goods # FHG77ZR to a lifetime warranty like the Swagman Expanse # S68FR or the etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874. Most carriers have a 1-year limited warranty - as do the majority of consumer products.
The key to the longevity of a cargo carrier is to use it within it specified capacity and to give it just basic care, such as a periodic wash to remove salt and dirt.
If you eventually find a spot where the powder coat finish has worn or chipped off then a quick application of rust-inhibiting paint such as Rustoleum brand for example will be a perfect fix to prevent corrosion.
