Brake Controller Installation on 2015 Lexus RX350
Question:
I am in need of a brake controller. 2015 RX350. I do have the upgraded towing package which includes wiring and hitch. There is a 4way at the hitch point. I have not been able to find the plug source in the cabin area to use the brake controller wiring harnesses. Any ideas? I could simply run the brake controller directly to the 7 way and leave the 4 way connected as is to the 7 way. Thoughts??

The Lexus RX350 isn't equipped with the plug under the dash for installing a brake controller, so the controller would need to be hardwired using our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7.
The kit contains an adapter that would convert your existing 4-pole trailer connector to a 7-way. The adapter would have 4 remaining wires, blue which carries voltage from the brake controller, black with provides 12 volt power for any trailer accessories that might require it, white which grounds to the vehicle frame and purple which powers trailer reverse lights (if your trailer's equipped with them.) If you don't need that circuit, you can bundle the wire up out of the way.
The Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160 would be an excellent choice for a brake controller. I'll link you to the installation instructions for the install kit and some FAQ articles you might find helpful.
