Troubleshooting Factory Brake Controller Activates Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator All the Time
Question:
The actuator that came with the trailer from the manufacturer works just fine, but with my 2015 3500 hooked up to the trailer the actuator runs all the time, can you tell me why?

It sounds like you have a factory brake controller in your new truck that doesn't like to work with electric over hydraulic actuators. This is a fairly common problem as most factory brake controllers in trucks either don't work all the time with an EOH actuator or they don't work some of the time.
Your best option would be a brake controller like the P2 part # 90885 that can easily be used with trailers that have EOH actuators.
Or you have a short on your brake output circuit to the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way and because of that the actuator is thinking that it needs to apply the brakes at all times. Cut wire and corrosion are typical culprits for this.
