Best Supplemental Braking Systems to Flat Tow a 2015 Ram 1500 Behind a Motor Home
Question:
i am buying a new Ram 1500 Laramie and wonder about the best braking system. Thinking it is Invisibrake. I assume I will also need the diode light harness. On the Ram will I need to put in a brake light switch to prevent opposing current or pull the fuse - which is a pain.

The best supplemental braking system for your 2015 Ram 1500 is going to depend on the type of braking system on the RV. If the RV has air brakes then the best system is going to be the SMI Air Force One # SM99243.
If the RV does not have air brakes then the best option is going to be the SMI Stay-IN Play DUO, # SM99251, which is similar to the InvisiBrake but works better because the cable that pulls the brake pedal is not as long. Also, the stop light switch kit, # RM-751468, is recommended so that you know the brake pedal of the truck is actually moving.
And a third option is a box style system such as the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR which would likely be the easiest to install. Although you do need to remove it in order to drive the Ram after towing. For it a 12 volt outlet kit # RM-9332 is recommended.
