Tow Bar Wiring to Flat Tow a 1995 Jeep Wrangler Behind a Motor Home
Question:
have a 1995 Jeep YJ and I want to tow it behind my motor home. I want to just run three wires back from my motor home to the jeep, tie them into the existing jeep wiring just behind the master fuse panel under the hood. Simple to do and not expensive, can it be done this way? I also have a battery disconnect on the main battery cable as well so I assume this would by pass all the rest while towing. Is this correct? Thanks

Hopkins trailer wiring harness # 42615 does not fit a 1995 Jeep YJ. Also, it is a harness meant for towing a trailer WITH a Jeep rather than to tow the Jeep behind a motor home.
I have included a link to the wiring harnesses for flat towing the Jeep. There isn't a plug and play type of harness for this particular vehicle. What I recommend and what our installers like to install because it is the easiest is the bulb and socket kit # RM-155. This bypasses the vehicle wiring so there is no danger of a short damaging anything on the Jeep. I have linked a video showing installation for you.
From the research I did, the battery does not have be to disconnected to flat tow your YJ but you can consult the vehicle owners manual to confirm.
