What is Needed to Install Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11496 , on 2009 Honda Accord Sedan

Question:

Hi. I want to install a hitch on my accord to pull a 4x6 utility trailer. I will be transporting two dirt bikes with it. The bikes weigh 190 lbs each. What do I need? From hitch to tongue to ball? Thanks in advance.

On your 2009 Honda Accord 4 door sedan the Curt Trailer Hitch for the 2009 Honda Accord, # C11496, will work fine. It has a Gross Towing Weight Capacity of 2,000 lbs. So if your bikes and total contents that will be on the trailer is under that, you would be fine. It bolts on and comes with detailed instructions. I will send a link with the installation instructions.

Also needed is a Draw-Tite Ball Mount, # 3593, and it includes the pin and clip. On the hitch ball you might want to check the coupler on the trailer and see if you need a 2 inch or 1-7/8 inch ball. If it is 2 inch ball you need a Tow Ready Hitch Ball with 2 inch Diameter and Short Shank, 3,500 lbs GTW, # 19258. If it is a 1-7/8 inch ball you need a Tow Ready Hitch Ball with 1-7/8 inch Diameter and Short Shank, 2000 lbs GTW - Chrome, # 19256.

The wiring harness needed is Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118420, which is a easy installation, no cutting or splicing is needed. The connection plugs into the tailights and the trailer connector is stored in the cargo area when not in use. I will send a video link to a wiring harness installation similar to your vehicle.
