Question:

i have a Shoreland boat trailer with a titon model 6 on the front of it. brakes have never worked on it. im getting all the parts i need to get them to work but was wondering if i needed the lockout for my trailer i didnt see one on the trailer now but that doesnt mean that there wasnt one o it before. the brake lines are all there never looked like they have been messed with and they dont leak. is there something else i may need for me to be able to back my boat up.

There are 3 ways to allow a trailer with surge brakes to back up. There can be an electric reverse lockout, a manual lockout, or you can use free-backing brake assemblies if the brakes are drums.

The easiest and most-preferred method is the electric reverse lockout like what comes on the Titan Model 6 part # T4747220. Or for just the lockout you would want the part # T4748800.

I also attached a link to a page that has all of the free backing brakes we offer.
