Why do Curt hitches need a stabilizing strap for bike racks and other brands dont?

Curt requires that any of their hitches that are NOT rated for weight distribution use a stabilization strap # 18050 for non-trailer loads. This is to be in compliance with their warranty requirements. The strap reduces some of the stress on the hitch and where it is attached on the vehicle.
