Backing Trailer While Using Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System # RP66560
Question:
Do you have to disconnect the spring bars when backing up? Also I want to make sure I ordered the right system. I have an 2014 Ram 1500 W/5.7 and I am towing a 30ft travel trailer 6900 unweighted and 560 TW. Will the RP66155 work for me? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
During normal backing, it's perfectly acceptable to leave the bars in place, but if you're in a situation where jackknifing the trailer would be a possibility, I'd highly recommend removing them to prevent damaging anything.
The Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution system you mentioned, part # RP66560 would be an excellent choice if the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer is between 600 and 1200 lbs.
