Proper Fit of Replacement Leaf Spring # e54SR on 1989 Keifer Built Horse Trailer
Question:
Will these leaf springs fit a 1989 Keifer Built American Eagle 2 Horse Trailer with front and rear axles rated at 3500lbs per axle. The measurement given for the part doesnt match the one on my trailer exactly but Ive been told springs can lengthen over time.

In my research on your 1989 Keifer trailer I was not able to confirm the size of leaf springs originally supplied but you are correct that it is common for springs to elongate after years of use. They never get shorter!
It is typical for a well-used spring to lengthen perhaps 1/2- to 3/4-inch at most. If your springs are still in functional condition and their length appears now to be about that much longer than the replacement you're looking at then you should be fine. If you can jack up one side of the trailer to remove the load from that side of the suspension you may be better able to get a more accurate measurement of the current spring.
In the 3500-lb capacity you need we offer 2 lengths of leaf spring in a 1-3/4-inch width, 23-1/4- and 25-1/4-inches. The spring with your required weight capacity, # e54SR, can be seen on the link provided.
