Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2013 Toyota Sienna and Rockwood Pop-up Camper
Question:
I need some assistance finding a compatible WDH for a 2013 Toyota Sienna XLE w/tow package for towing a Rockwood 2716G Popup camper. The popup has the following specs: Hitch Weight 370 lbs. Base Weight 2555 lbs. GVWR 3370 lbs I noticed one of the campers features is: Built-in A-Frame Mounting Provision for Equalizer Hitch Bar Installation Do you have any idea what this might mean or should I contact the camper manufacturer. Thanks for your help,

The weight distribution system I recommend to tow your Rockwood 2716G popup camper is Pro Series Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control, part # PS49901. It is rated for 400 pounds tongue weight. Please note that when you calculate tongue weight you have to add in the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the towing vehicle. The 370 pound hitch weight on your camper can quickly become 400 pounds or more when luggage is added to the cargo area of the Sienna.
You will need a properly sized ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch diameter or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch diameter.
The Built-in A-Frame Mounting Provision for Equalizer Hitch Bar Installation may mean that your camper is set up to be used with weight distribution, possibly only Equal-i-zer brand. You will want to check your camper owner's manual to verify this.
You will also need to consult the owner's manual of the vehicle to determine if the vehicle is rated for weight distribution systems.
I have included a link to our weight distribution FAQ article for you.
