Can a 2,000 Pound Trailer Axle be Fitted with Electric Brakes and 10 or 12 Inch Wheels

Question:

Is there a trailer axle or spindle that can have electric or hydraulic brakes and a 10 or 12 inch wheel. The lighter weight axle, 2000 lb capacity does not show one with brakes.

You would need to step up to a 3500 pound set up to get an axle that comes with brake mounting flanges. You could have brake mounting flanges welded to a 2K axle if you wanted but it is a precision job that requires the proper equipment and someone who has performed this job before.

So for example you could use axle # T20BTR-6048 with hub and drum assembly # 8-257-5UC3. then you would need brake mounting flange # 4-34 and brake assemblies # 23-47 and # 23-48.

The hub and drum assembly will accept 10 or 12 inch wheels with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.
