Installing 5th Wheel Hitch in 2015 Ford F-150 With Aluminum Body
Question:
How will the fifthwheel hitches attach to the body of the 2015s? I assume the hitch will be steel, so how will they keep the steel hitch away from the aluminum body panels so that corrosion will not happen between the two dissimilar metals?

Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rail Kit # RP50087-58 includes Galvanic Isolator Strips to help prevent parasitic corrosion between the aluminum body of your new F-150 and the steel base rails included in the kit. My technical contact at Reese advised that so long as the paint in the bed has no scratches or chips that there should not be a corrosion issue but for extra protection they include the strips.
Please note that the 5th wheel hitches recommended for your 2015 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2-foot bed are all sliding type hitches that provide additional turning clearance for your low-speed maneuvers. The hitch # RP30047 that you referenced is a fixed-base hitch. The link provided will let you see all sliding 5th wheel hitch options to fit these base rails. If you use a Sidewinder pin box on your 5th wheel you can use a standard fixed hitch. Please refer to the linked article for more information on these replacement pin boxes.
