Does It Matter Which Wire From a Trailer Breakaway System Switch Gets Used
Question:
I am replacing an existing Breakaway switch. I have two wires on mine. one is BLUE one is YELLOW It appears the HM20014 wires are both BLUE. Can I safely assume that I can connect either wire from the HM20014 to either wire on my trailer?

Yes, a breakaway switch only completes a circuit when the plunger is pulled. You can wire either of your trailer wires to either of the wires of the # HM20014 and it would work great.
I attached an FAQ article on breakaway systems for you to check out as well.

My Break away switch has 2 blue wires coming off of it. Does it matter which one goes to the power pole on the junction box? (And the other to the brake pole) Thanks
