Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2014 Infiniti Q50
Question:
Thank you again for answering all my questions so far, it has been extremely helpful. So from the videos youve linked, it looks like the anti-rattling bolt is what keeps the swagman bike rack connected to the hitch. I was wondering if there is some kind of lock you can attach to the bolt so that I can leave the bike rack attached at the beach without worrying about it getting stolen? Also, why would a company require you to use a stabilizing strap but not include it in the product itself especially if it voids the warranty? I know you dont work for Curt and I dont expect you to have the answer to this question but I thought Id ask anyway.

Right now the only hitch that is confirmed to fit the 2014 Infiniti Q50 is the Curt Hitch part # C11407 that I recommended for Cindy so I would recommend this hitch for you as well.
The Swagman XTC-2 # # S64670, offers a few things that have been improved over the Swagman XC-2, part # S64650.
Beyond the aesthetics, the XTC-2 offers re-designed and improved wheel cradles that are stronger and position the bikes higher up to provide more ground clearance. The wheels hoops on the XTC-2 also have stronger, more durable clamps for adjusting the wheel hoops. Finally, the wheel straps are a better, heavier design.
They are not drastic differences, but a lot of users prefer those changes. I have added links to some demo videos for you to review. Both of these racks come with adapters that allow the rack to be installed in either a 2 inch or 1-1/4 inch hitch. In the review video attached at the 48 second mark the adapter system is explained.
The only other thing you will need for carrying a bike rack with this hitch is a stabilizer strap like part # 18050. Failure to use this strap will void the warranty of the hitch. I attached a review video for this strap that shows how it is used. Basically it is designed to prevent some of the jarring from road bumps from being transferred to the hitch and it's attachment points.
