Troubleshooting PL Code on a Prodigy Brake Controller
Question:
Hello, I have a prodigy brake controller that has worked flawlessly for the past 12 years and now it will display a PL code. The manual states it is a power interruption while braking. I checked the power wiring and fuses and all looks good. Is there a circuit breaker in the system that could be providing power but under load it s? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The PL code will be displayed when the Prodigy loses voltage on the black wire while either the brake pedal or the manual lever is being applied. This may be caused by a loose connection or I have also seen a faulty circuit breaker case this as well.
The circuit breaker I referred to would be on the power wire of the controller. The black wire of the controller should run through a circuit breaker and then to the positive side of the vehicle battery. You might try bypassing the circuit breaker and running the controller straight to the battery temporarily to see if the PL code goes away.
