I am really glad that I purchased this Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver for my 2022 Honda CRV. I wanted it only for use with my bike rack that is intended for a class III 2" receiver. The best thing is I like how it is tucked away underneath the back of the vehicle. As you can see in the pictures here, only the receiver is visible. The rest of the hitch is nicely tucked away under the vehicle. I had it installed by a local garage that I go to for normal maintenance of our vehicles. The mechanic said it was easy to install.

The Curt Trailer Hitch is still working out great on our 2022 Honda CR-V FWD. I use it only for my bike rack.

This hitch fit my 2023 Honda CRV EXL non-hybrid SUV. Getting it into postion and bolting it in went well, but there is a harness connection in the way on the driver's side which I had to relocate a little higher with a tie rap. Notching out the lower bumper raparound was a pain, mostly because I didn't have any dimensions, so I undercut it and had to take the hitch off again to cut it wider. The exhaust suspenders were hard to get off and on. What worked for me was lubricating the rubber suspenders and using large channel locks to press it on. Once it was on the hitch is great looking and worth the effort. I was impressed with how quick it was shipped, the tracking provided, and it arrived a lot sooner than promised.

It has been a great hitch and because it is concealed it looks great also. No problems towing with it taking the boat to the lake.

I have a 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport. This is the front wheel drive model. I thought that I would have to remove the back bumper cover but I didn't. Once the bottom cover was removed, I removed the two push pins at the far corners of the bumper cover. That allowed me to push the lower part out far enough to get the hitch installed. I installed it by myself and after I figured out that it would fit, it took about 2 hours to install. Made about a 4"X4" cut in the middle bottom of the bumper cover and notched out the bottom cover and it was perfect. All that shows is the receiver itself. Couldn't be happier with the hitch. The hardest part of the install is prying off the two rubber exhaust hangers. A little WD40 helped. They were much easier to reinstall. I do have to say that the fit is tight to the hybrid battery pan that sticks out the bottom. I don't think there was much more than an eighth of an inch clearance on either side.

2022 Honda CR-V

Perfect fit. Once you get pass the vehicle muffler and underbody panels, it was an easy install. (Note: The rear bumper fascia center cut-out should only be ~1.5" deep by ~3" wide, for the 2022 Honda CRV EXL hybrid.)

2023 Honda CR-V

This is the third hitch I have purchased from Etrailer in the last 2 years, everything thing they do is first class from pricing to the quick shipping and the customer service but the packaging department is terrible. When you put a 40-50 lbs. hitch in a generic sized box with a little cardboard strap stapled to the side it will move around and break thru, see photos attached. When I went to install it one of the holes would not line up so I took it down and noticed that the hitch had been bent.
I would rather wait an extra day for delivery instead waiting an extra day for the paint to dry.

Unfortunately, it is very common for hitches to bend during shipment. This is because the hitch is made to flex slightly to prevent stress cracks during shipment. I have a link below for your reference.

2018 Honda CR-V

This hitch is great. Fits my 2018 Honda CR-V perfectly, and the slight trimming of the plastic bumper cover is not visible. Use if for hauling my gravel bike, but would have no reservation about pulling an appropriate size trailer. This is the 3rd hitch I've bought for different vehicles over the years. The service at etrailer is as good as the products they sell. Highly recommend..

Honda

This hitch fit our 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring. It was difficult to find one that did because of some of the features on the Hybrid Touring, and even Honda didn't have a specific hitch to fit. I had the Honda dealer install the hitch, and it fit perfectly and works for our accessories. I won't be towing with the CR-V, but I can install our accessories (basket, bike rack) now. Additionally, even the foot sensor at the rear of the vehicle for the rear hatch still works with the hitch in place. This was a good choice and the etrailer staff was very helpful when purchased. I recommend this hitch for customers looking for one for their Honda CR-V.

by:

The hitch fit very well. I had no problems with warpage causing bolt misalignment on my 2023 Honda CR-V. The finish is topnotch. It is well hidden up under the vehicle with only the receiver tube showing. I am very satisfied.

by:
2019 Honda CR-V

Top quality. Except for the receiver, this hitch is invisible and does not obstruct tailgate foot sensor. Fairly long installation, since it requires lowering both mufflers and the main exhaust pipe near the catalytic converter. Small cut is also needed in the plastic of the rear bumper fascia, although it is not visible once the installation is complete. Requires the use of a 1/2" torque wrench. Had the torquing double-checked at Honda dealership. Spent an afternoon with the help of a neighbor doing the install in my driveway.

2018 Honda CR-V

This hitch is a great value. I installed it myself; that took me about 2.5 hours, well longer than the estimate, even though I have mechanical experience. I backed my CR-V up onto ramps to give me space to work; I consider that an absolute necessity.
There is a problem with the installation instructions. The dimensions for the underbody panel trim are wrong. I followed them exactly and ended up with a cutout much wider than necessary. As far as I can tell the underbody panel cutout doesn't need to be any bigger than the fascia cutout. I've attached a photo showing the wide underbody panel cutout (fiber panel) compared to the facia cutout (smooth silver panel along the top of the photo).

by:
Honda

It arrived without any scratch and included all the hardware.
I paid local RackAttack shop $200 for the installation on 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport L. The whole thing is cheaper than OEM Honda. I will use it for bike rack so time will tell if it doesn't developer any rust.

by:

Easy install for me! Hahaha, my son came over a put it on. ????
I mostly watched. Round trip to Florida from Ohio. Pulled Kendon stand-up trailer. Pick up a new to me motorcycle in Seminole. No problem. Great products.

Hitch fits for 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid EXL. Silicone spray on muffler hangars makes for easy removal. Notch bumper starting .625 inches from tab with hole. You will also need to notch plastic guard (tin snips work well). Don’t forget to move plug-in located on inside of bumper drivers side. WATCH e trailer install video first.

by:

I am grateful for the videos. They were very helpful. I have a friend with a lift, which made this much easier. And having a second person was also very helpful. Based on one person's feedback, I bought a muffler hanger tool, but ended up using a crowbar anyway. Save your money. This hitch has a nice, clean look. I appreciate the effort that etrailer puts into making the installation process as simple as possible. Well done!

by:

Great hitch - easy to install - I use to carry our bikes on a bike rack!

by:

I had this hitch professionally installed primarily because I didn't care to do the work, but also to send a little work to a body shop I use that was struggling during the pandemic lock down (no travel - no accidents). The hitch has worked well though I only use it for a 4- bike- Thule rack. The downside is it blocks the foot sensor to open the rear hatch on my CR-V. This is a known problem. I didn't value the function enough to spend $100 for a connection to relocate the sensor. Another potential issue was that could interfere with the function that warns of approaching traffic when in reverse. This has not been an issue.

by:

All good. Easy to follow installation instructions. Been working fine for a year now.

by:

This hitch perfectly fits a 2023 Honda Touring Hybrid model. Follow the video, on this site, for installation instructions. It helps having a second person available, when lifting the hitch into place. The Touring model has a kick sensor underneath, on the rear bumper. Trimming of the plastic covering under the rear bumper is required as well with moving the kick sensor wire a bit. Use zip ties to secure sensor, after moving it. My cutting of the plastic bumper trim was the minimal cut, that you can get away with. See the photos.

2022 Honda CR-V

Quick shipping and well packaged. Curt trailer hitch was a perfect fit on my 2023 Honda CRV. Watch the you-tube video and get someone to help you with the installation, it will go much faster. Watch out for the horizontal seams on each muffler, they are razor sharp! Also, on the driver's side tucked up under the bumper a wire is mounted to a metal panel. You will have to remove it and push the wire up out of the way to allow the hitch to go high enough.

  • Best Trailer Hitch on 2018 CR-V for Carrying Mountain Bikes
Part # C13397 works for your 2018 Honda CR-V and offers a 2 inch receiver which helps you find a bike rack. Most bike racks come with a 2 inch receiver tube. The hitch and the bike rack will both be stronger as well. A good bike rack for mountain bikes is part # Y02443. This rack can hold two bikes and the weight capacity per bike is 60 pounds. This rack also is a wheel mount system so your frame will be protected from scratching. Most hanging bike racks could scratch your frame. This...

It has an extended shank with a rise so you don't have to worry about the carrier coming into contact with the back of the vehicle or the ground. It also folds up against the vehicle while not in use. I recommend going with the 2" receiver version due to it having the most options when it comes to accessories like bike racks, cargo carriers, or even balls mounts to tow a trailer. If you can tell me what you will be using your hitch for I would be happy to recommend the best products for your needs.
