This semi-custom SportRack roof rack easily installs on your vehicle's bare roof so you can carry extra cargo to your next destination. Adjustable, rotating footpads combine with an easy-to-use numbering system to make the rack conform to your roof for a good fit.
A unique numbering system is inscribed on the crossbars to aid in installation. This system corresponds to numbers noted in the easy-to-read application guide. First, find the number indicated for your car, and then slide the roof-rack feet along the crossbars until they line up with the appropriate number for your application. Tighten the feet in place with the included Allen wrench.
Refer to the application guide to find specific measurements that allow you to properly position the rack on your roof. To begin installing the roof rack on your vehicle, open the passenger's- and driver's-side doors. Place the front crossbar first, and make sure that the screws that hold the clamps in the roof-rack feet are loose before positioning the feet on your roof.
Before attaching the clamps to the door jambs and tightening them down, you need to make sure that the feet and pads are oriented correctly. The bottom of each foot can be rotated to better fit the slope of your roof. Make sure that the feet are sitting flush against the roof.
Once the feet are properly positioned, attach the clamps to the door jambs and tighten via the screws in the feet. After the front crossbar is positioned, review the instructions for the measurements needed to place the rear crossbar and repeat the same process for that crossbar.
Once everything is tightened down, place the locking covers over the feet to deter theft of the rack.

The instructions for installing the roof rack were not as clear as they should be. This resulted in frustration and wasted time but once we figured it out through trial and error it fit well and we have been very satisfied since. When installing, unscrew the clamp all the way to evenly position the roof pads and then evenly tighten the clamps.
I thought the suggested measurements for installing the roof rack were way off, initially. But after playing with it for awhile I realized I had underestimated how much room there is to extend the roof-rack clamps. I love this roof rack. Great price and great performance. Little sign of wear after the first year. Some wind noise but much quieter than I expected. Handles my 85 pound kayak easily.
I was skeptical about how this "naked roof" attachment strategy was going to work, but now that I've tried it out I feel OK about it. The rubber is pretty thick, so I haven't seen any scratch marks. Once you get it adjusted for your vehicle it's pretty easy to mount or dismount.
The only complaint I have is that the doors "don't close right" when it is attached (at least on my 2008 Honda Fit Sport) -- they get forced slightly down, which probably isn't serious, but it isn't good for them either. This also means the weatherstripping doesn't fully seal, so I hear more wind noise when driving (not counting the noise the bars and bikes add). It hasn't rained on my vehicle while this is attached yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if a little water leaked through too.
This is my first rack mount, and all in all I'm satisfied with it. It was a reasonable price, was easy to install, and doesn't feel like it's going to loosen up and fly off.

Still working fine though it has caused the weatherstripping water diverter material on my 2008 Fit to sustain some slight damage beginning to break.

First off, I guess I didn't read properly when I ordered because I was surprised at the quality of these bars when they arrived--I wasn't expecting such solid-feeling, quality metal! These puppies are heavy for their initial appearance!
Anyways, I installed them myself in less than 15 minutes! Super easy instructions. I also found the video provided on the website pretty useful, too, because I am no handywoman.
After putting it all together, I climbed on my car and shook it by the bars King-Kong style. This test put more than the recommended 100lbs stress on it that the manual said it shouldn't exceed. Nothing budged except my car. I feel confident that these will really hold up! I plan on using a cargo carrier to move across the country on these bars. I was nervous when ordering that this wouldn't work out--but after stress-testing it a little and feeling how strong it is, I'm no longer worried.
My one qualm was that the measurements for how far apart the grips needed to be spaced was wrong. The booklet said "18inches" (or 19, I cant remember) for the front and an inch less for the back. However, when I put them on my car, it was well over that, the front needed 23 inches on both sides, and the back was straddling about 23.5 inches on either side. But, my car is relatively new to me, so it's pooooossssssiiiiibbbblllleeee that my car is a "sport" version or something like that.
Lastly, customer service was great. I got a call that they couldn't ship to my PO box, and the guy on the phone was friendly and kind. After fixing that, my order was shipped within like two hours which was so impressive and pleasant!

The rack is awesome. I ended up using it to hold my car-top carrier as I moved from Indiana to California. I drove about 2,200 miles with it over six days through heat, wind, and rain. It held firm the entire time not budging even a millimeter. I was impressed with how firm it stayed despite the load I put on it. I also appreciated the lock covers over each side attachment for extra security. We stayed in some interesting areas during the move, so the little bit if added security helped me sleep better. I am definitely holding on to this rack, and should I need to get a new rack for my other car, I will be shopping through your store. Thank you for your quality car rack and customer service. :
These were exactly what I needed on my 2011 Toyota Yaris. I have never had a problem with it. I have the weight maxed out with a roof basket carrying three duffel bags, 2 tables, a highchair, 2 skateboards, a folding vacuum, and 2 camping chairs. It has seen about 8,000 miles through 24 states. I did have to take locking pliers to it to fix the angle of the bend that hooks into the door jam. It was malleable enough to handle easily.

The roof rack held up through some extensive abuse. I ended up selling it on [used items site] when I upgraded vehicles.
Pretty good, easy to install, not too fancy but, solid. [my car] There's a channel that runs the length of the roof on each side. Spent a good period of time deciding how to locate the pads with relation to the channel. I didn't feel comfortable with on foot in the channel and the other on the main roof. So, there's a little compromise. Hope it's okay to do that.

Um i did just recieve the product, it didnt come with a allen wrench like the pictures said and i was looking through my tools for one for like an hour but thats no worries, the roof rack does interfere with my doors a little you have to push a little hard to close them pretty much slam them but im not worried to much since its an older car they are mounted really tights i could shake the whole car and they wouldnt move I am satisfied with them i do want to loosen them and try to get the rubber piece back into its spot. I initially got them ao i can put a snowboard mount on it so I dont have to stuff my snowboard into my trunk this year. Oh I think they actually look really good on my car too.

Not as easy to mount as you would think. 2 people would have been a big help. I ended up putting a couple self tapping screws though the mounting hook to the underside of the door sill. It's not going anywhere now. Not a bad set up for the price either between the rack and the basket I have xxx invested. fair price considering the alternatives or the hassle of making my own.

Still worth every penny.
Installed on a 2004 Accord. Installation was easy and fit seems good and sturdy. Was able to retrofit my Yakima kayak saddles onto the etrailer roof rack.
For the price you can't go wrong.
Pros:
- Allowed us to carry double stroller, toddler mattress, and pack'n'play on roof from El Paso, TX to Disneyland in California without any issues. This gave us complete access to trunk storage for our luggage and other items.
- Simple to use.
- Very sturdy.
- Looks pretty good on any car.
Cons:
- etrailer.com sent me a heavily used unit and charged me full price as if item was used. I didn't throw a big fuss about it because I figured we were going to bang it up anyway and they also gave me back 10% which was helpful.
- The door clamps are too thick for Toyota Camry (2008 LE). You have to roll the windows down and pull from the inside as hard as you can or else you'll get tons of wind noise.
- I followed fitting chart exactly; however, the rear measurements was no where close for proper fit for the rear fitting. I had to use 18" in back and 21" in front. The fitting chart suggested 21" and 21" but at 21" the rear bar wouldn't even clamp when the Allen screw was all the way down.
Higher quality bars with smaller/better fitting door clamps would have been nice, but we only intend to use this once or twice a year for camping so going for a budget option was a good choice for us. If you plan to use them a lot, and you have a 2008 Camry LE, I would consider investing more on a better fitting unit for this particular car. Without pulling from the inside, the wind noise was so loud I couldn't talk to my wife sitting next to me without speaking loudly. To some that might not be ideal.
I installed the SportRack on my Hyundai Elantra last week. The SportRack is more expensive than the cheap roof racks on Amazon, but much less expensive than Thule or Rhino. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid, rugged, and heavy duty the SportRack is. It was easy to install - no extra tools needed; SportRack included an Alan wrench. Like all roof racks that attach to the door frame, I noticed more road noise - because the rack allows a small gap in the door seal. However, the noise was not worse than the expensive roof racks. My first trip from Utah to Arizona was thru a blizzard, then hail, then rain until I reached Arizona and the sun came out. The small gap in the seal did not let the rain in - pleasantly surprised. I recommend this roof rack to car owners that need to haul big items on a little car.
We've owned this roof rack for a year now, and it's done a great job helping me carry supplies for my pop-up shop markets. The first few times putting it on the roof of my Elantra were kind of challenging to get the anchor points properly aligned. But now my husband is an expert. I do wish that there were some tie-down points integrated into the rack, but we figure out other ideas. So far, it's been used about 8 times, so there are a few nicks and scratches but the bars are not bowed. Overall, definitely worth the price.
This has worked better for me than another roof rack that cost twice as much! I can haul plywood on it in my little Honda! My only con is it doesn’t have a rubber grip, so things can slide if you’re not careful. I easily avoided this by buying some small C clamps.
I purchased one of the Naked Roof Racks for my 2006 Toyota Corolla and the directions were easy to understand, very clear as to what needs to be done and the racks fit my roof well.
In the directions they say to tighten the width adjuster bolts down to 53 inch pounds of torque and I did, but while tightening it down I did notice on the bars aren't the strongest of material because while tightening the width brackets down (to 53 inch pounds) it did cave/crease in the walls of the bars. I think it will be fine, just more secure so the width definitely won't move at all. Also, while driving above 60 mph there is a bit of wind noise but I'm alright with that since these will be coming off when not in use.
Overall I'm happy with the product, the price point and rather quick delivery was excellent.
I've had it for exactly a year now, and it's holding up superbly. As always, there is zero looseness, wobbling, or anything of that sort. I got a roof rack from this site as well, and they are both holding up great and I use it fairly often to transport bulky items with my daily driver. 100% recommend!!!
Cons
1. Easy to steal you're stuff (need to change your bolt to either a Spline bolt or a Torx bolt.
2. A lot of wind noise without a wind deflector (fairing)
3. Locks are not that great. Keeps the honest people away

Works well for the price. We have used this rack on a few trips to carry two kayaks on a small hatchback (see photo) and it remained perfectly attached the entire time. The only issue was a small amount of rainwater entered the vehicle where the clip is pressing the weather seal down above the door. I suppose this is unavoidable when retrofitting a vehicle with something like this, and it really wasn't that big of a deal since most of the time it isn't raining. Also, water does not enter when travelling at highway speeds since it doesn't have time to collect.
Very solid and secure. I'm impressed! Must say I had my doubts but this product but it performs beyond my expectations. We needed a second roof rack system to shuttle our kayaks back to the "put-in" after paddling down river on the Chattahoochee. We originally purchased a Thule system for my girlfriends wagon at [...]'s garage sale and found fold down kayak holders at another garage sale months later. That left the rigid stand up kayak holders (that you see in the pics) just sitting around. This etrailer.com roof rack works great for our needs, is easily removable, and super economical. Happy kayaking!

I am very happy with the roof rack. It took some adjusting but is a great investment.
I like the design. One of our cross members did have a significant gouge (straight out of the box) in the plastic casing that wraps the cross member but I didn't have time to return it before I needed to use it.
It is pretty sturdy system overall but the clamp's design does not force each clamp to pinch as much as it should. As the clamps are tightened, they begin to stretch and slip up off of the car's overhead structure. The design should have an additional adjustment on each end that cantilevers the top of the clamp to pull out on the top which would force the bottom to pivot/ push into the car more. I was worried during our travel that it would be jolted and then slip off of its install point.
So the install would require the installer to place the assembly, tighten each opposing cantilever adjustment while simultaneously and incrementally tightening the other adjustment crew for snug fit in the vertical direction.
cAfter a couple days of searching online for a rack system, reading reviews, comparing prices and even searching Craigslist and Ebay I settled on ETrailer Sr1002 for my 2005 Corrolla XRS, Rack with hauling my 12' fishing Kayak the main objective.. Product arrived on time with free shipping, Impressed with the initial quality of the racks right out of the box. Brackets and screws seemed of good quality and up to the task, Installed racks in 35 minutes and needed nothing more than a tape measure. and they were rock solid and could grab them and shake the entire car. I did watch the installation video a couple time while waiting for them which is time well spent. Off to my friends house to pick up my Kayak that's been sitting on her lawn since last fall. Lashed it down with nothing more than a couple ratchet straps and off I went down the road at 65 with no problems. Getting use out my Yak at a third of the price and gaining a lot of utilitarian use out of the grocery getter. Also called Eretailer as the price I paid dropped some $27 from time of purchase to delivery. Rep said they would refund the difference back to my card. As of this moment haven't seen the credit but certainly hope they'll make good on that sooner later. Either way its a good product at a fair price and I would highly recommend,
Bought Sportrack for my 2010 Camry 4-door sedan. Previously had Thule rack for a 1998 Camry and found that the adapters to fit it to the 2010 Camry would cost about twice as much as the entire Sportrack. Sportrack was easy to install, very comparable to the Thule and in some ways better. Fit and finish is excellent. Dealing with etrailer was great.
Roof rack is in great shape after one year. Looking to get some help as we have lost the keys to remove. Can replacement keys be ordered?

SportRack is owned by Thule, so Thule replacement keys will work in your SportRack roof rack. Next to the key slot in the lock, there should be a 3 or 4 digit number. Use the prefix THKEYN in front of that number to find the part number of the replacement key youd need. Just type that part number in the search box on our website, and you can order the replacement key.
Bought the sportrack Brand for my Chrysler 300c over similar units costing $100 to $250 more !! This rack is strong - well built and just what I was looking for ! Took all of 5 minutes to install and 15 minutes to put on the kayak racks and off we went to pick up our 2 kayaks !!!
Install directions were spot on . No assembly needed - rack was fully assembled ready to place on the roof!

Hi Jacob, The weatherstrip that is getting folded on your fit is actually a water diverter strip designed to gutter the majority of water away from the main sealing weatherstrip. One is mounted on the door and one is mounted on the body of the car. You will be fine in the wet weather.
