I saw the distance apart for the sport rack on my 2012 civic sedan should be 25 inches how close to the front window should I place the front bar? Thank you for your time,

According to the installation details of the SportRack roof rack, part # SR1002, the front bar should be placed 10 inches in front of the front door jamb. Then the rear bar needs to be 25 inches from the front bar like you mentioned.
I've attached the installation details to this page for you.
